How to Start a Company in Nevada

None

Nevada is a popular state to start a business because it does not require business income tax. Because of this it is a business friendly environment. 1. At the website of the Nevada Secretary of State, select the link that says "Business Entity Search." Type the name of the business you want, and if none appear, you can use that business name. If the name you want does show up it means someone else is already using it and you will need to choose a different one. 2. Go back to the main page and click on the "Forms and Fees" link. Select "All Business Forms," then choose your desired business structure (LLC, etc.) 3. Download all the required forms, and fill them out. 4. Send all your completed forms to the office of the Nevada Secretary of State. In 2010, the filing fee for an LLC was $75. 5. Depending on your type of business, you may have to apply for a state business license. Nonprofits, film production studios, and home based businesses are exempt from the license requirement.
