How to Create a Multi Business LLC
Some entrepreneurs like having the flexibility of creating several businesses under one roof. With a multi-business LLC you can have the tax and debt liability advantages of a standard LLC. 1. Choose a company name that includes the phrases "Limited Liability Company," "Ltd. Liability Co." or "LLC" or "L.L.C." at the end of the name. Within the different units of your business, write specific mission statements that give the public a clear view of your company overall and it's individual units. 2. Compose the Articles of Organization or Certificate of Formation. This is required in most states. Texas and Delaware require the additional Certificate of Formation. 3. Find a registered agent. Sometimes it is possible to have the company act as its own agent but otherwise you'll need to find one registered in the state where you are forming your business. 4. Fill out the business formation documents, then file the papers and pay your filing fees.
