DBA Disadvantages

The biggest disadvantage of a DBA over an LLC or a corporation is that you do not have liability protection. It is the same as a partnership or sole proprietorship. Your personal assets are at risk if your business has debts. Also, you do not have exclusive protection of your company's name. Many states do not have restrictions on having DBAs that use the same name.
